Your route follows Prek Chik, one of the longest man-made canals in Cambodia, stretching approximately 60 kilometers. Built during the Khmer Rouge regime (1975–1979), this canal stands as a haunting reminder of Cambodia’s tragic past. Under forced labor conditions, millions of Cambodians were displaced from urban areas to toil in the countryside with minimal food or medical care. Nearly 3 million lives were lost to starvation, disease, and mass executions during this dark period.
