The journey takes you through the banana plantations and vegetable farms of Red River Island, a tranquil haven for photography and cultural encounters.
Depending on the season, you may witness farmers harvesting colorful flower fields, creating a picturesque scene typical of Vietnam’s vibrant agricultural life.
We wrap up the morning ride at West Lake, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing cup of Vietnamese coffee or green tea with scenic lake views. Overnight on board the train to Hue, continuing your unforgettable cycling tour from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
Arriving in Hue in the early morning, and after a light breakfast and freshening up, we set off on a cycling excursion through Vietnam’s former imperial capital, a city rich in history, charm, and cultural significance.
Our ride begins with a crossing of the Perfume River to reach the iconic Imperial Citadel, the UNESCO-listed former seat of the Nguyen Dynasty. We’ll explore this sprawling complex on foot, walking through ornate palaces, ancient gates, and royal courtyards that tell the story of Vietnam’s dynastic past.
Back on the bikes, we venture beyond the city limits onto peaceful dirt tracks, cycling through serene countryside to visit the royal Mausoleums of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. These stunning historical sites are nestled among pine-covered hills and represent two distinct architectural styles from Vietnam’s imperial era.
Our route continues past scattered relics and temple ruins, eventually reaching the Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Hue’s most famous landmarks, perched on the banks of the Perfume River. This peaceful pagoda is a perfect final stop for reflection and photos.
After a culturally rich day, we return to the city for your overnight stay in Hue, resting up for the journey ahead on your unforgettable Vietnam cycling holiday.

Overnight in Hoi An – a magical stop on your unforgettable Vietnam cycling holiday.
Today’s ride is a cultural and physical highlight of your cycling tour from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, offering a deeper look into Vietnam’s ancient heritage and rural beauty. We begin with a morning transfer to the outskirts of Hoi An, where you’ll start cycling along quiet back roads through peaceful countryside and local villages.
Your destination is the remarkable My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important remnants of the ancient Cham civilization. Nestled in a lush valley surrounded by mountains, My Son served as the religious and political capital of the Cham dynasty between the 4th and 12th centuries. Though many of the temples were damaged during the Vietnam War, over 70 structures still stand, rising mysteriously from the rice fields and forested landscape.
The cycling route is remote and scenic, offering breathtaking views of untouched terrain and a unique opportunity to explore a region rarely visited by tourists. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walking tour of the ruins, learning about the history, symbolism, and architectural styles of the Cham people.
We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near the sanctuary before transferring back to Hoi An in the afternoon. Spend the evening at your leisure or over a shared dinner, reflecting on the rich history and rewarding ride of the day.
Your cycling tour from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City continues with an early morning departure from Hoi An. We begin with a scenic transfer to Quang Ngai, where we unload the bikes and begin a relaxed yet picturesque ride south along Vietnam’s stunning coastline.
Today’s ride takes us toward Quy Nhon, the capital of Binh Dinh Province, a region rich in both natural beauty and historical significance. Once a vital U.S. port and supply center during the Vietnam War, Quy Nhon also served as a refuge for many Vietnamese fleeing the heavily bombed countryside. Now, it’s a peaceful and culturally rich seaside city, known for its quiet beaches and welcoming atmosphere.
The route combines cycling and bus travel, following a scenic stretch of the coastal highway, offering uninterrupted views of fishing villages, rice paddies, and sweeping sea vistas. It’s a day that balances leisurely cycling with rich insight into Vietnam’s wartime past and post-war transformation.
Upon arrival in Quy Nhon, check in to your hotel and relax for the evening in this off-the-beaten-path gem of central Vietnam.
Today’s journey on your cycling tour from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City offers a unique and scenic ride along one of Vietnam’s lesser-known gems, a quiet, well-paved road that runs parallel to the historic Reunification Express Railway.
After breakfast, we transfer out of Quy Nhon to avoid the busier highways, then begin cycling through peaceful coastal terrain. The route offers a refreshing change of pace, with gentle hills, lush landscapes, and occasional glimpses of the passing train, all set to the backdrop of the South China Sea.
Along the way, we stop at the picturesque Dai Lanh Beach, where you can enjoy refreshments and take a refreshing swim in the clear blue waters. The beach, lined with coconut palms and soft sand, is a perfect mid-ride retreat.
We continue cycling toward the vibrant coastal city of Nha Trang, known for its beaches, seafood, and lively atmosphere. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel and settle in for the evening.

From there, we begin our cycling adventure on a remote mountain road that climbs into the stunning Central Highlands, heading toward the cool, misty town of Da Lat.
As you cycle through the lush hills and winding roads, enjoy breathtaking views of the countryside, dotted with farms, forests, and small villages. The mountain terrain offers a challenging yet rewarding ride, and the tranquil atmosphere is a perfect contrast to the coastal regions we’ve passed through.
Upon arrival in Da Lat, you’ll be greeted by the charming European-style villas and chalets that reflect the town’s colonial heritage. Known as the “City of Eternal Spring,” Da Lat is famous for its mild climate, beautiful landscapes, and distinct architecture.
Take some time to explore this picturesque town, which still holds the charm of its colonial past, before settling in for the night.
After a hearty breakfast, we embark on the last leg of your cycling tour from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. As you explore these tunnels, you’ll gain a unique insight into the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people during the war.
After visiting the tunnels, we’ll return to Ho Chi Minh City, where you’ll have the rest of the afternoon to explore at your leisure or relax after the day’s adventures.

Vietnam: The official national currency is the Vietnam Dong, but the US dollar is widely accepted in tourist centers. However, in smaller towns and villages the Dong is preferred. ATMs are available in all major tourist destinations and big cities. Vietcombank has the best network with a single withdrawal limit of 2,000,000d (about US$125). Most major currencies can be exchanged at leading banks in Vietnam, but the US dollar is preferred away from the tourist centers. Changing US$100 will make you an instant millionaire! You cannot legally take the dong out of Vietnam but you can reconvert reasonable amounts of it into US dollars on departure.
Solo travelers are welcome on our tour! While our prices are based on twin-sharing accommodation, we will pair you with another solo traveler of the same gender. If you prefer a private room, this option is available at an additional cost.
